Year R Imps

Hello Little Imps,

We hope that you are ok.

Here you will find lots of activities to keep you busy while you are at home.

We hope to see you very soon.

Sending lots of love Mrs Jukes, Mrs Ruiz and Mrs Calzolari xxxx

Week One Home Learning

English:

-Read a fairy tale with your family. If you don't have any fairytales at home, there are lots online ones you can listen to e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEf6MtglpXk

Talk about the story together.

-Draw a picture of the fairy tale you read or listen to with your family. Can you label your picture with any words? Use your sounds to help you.

-Complete a story map for your Fairy tale, showing what happens at different parts of the story, using pictures and key words.

-Cut out and complete the Jack and the beanstalk story map (found below in resources). Try to remember the order of the story.

-Read everyday.

Maths:

-Complete the Jack and the Beanstalk counting 1-10 worksheet (found below in the resources).

-Practise writing your numbers 1-10. Can you recognise the numbers 1-10?

-Count forwards and backwards to 10. Listen to the following song, it might help you!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR-cfDsHCGA

Phonics:

-Keep trying to learn our tricky words (I, go, no, the to, into).

-Make your own flashcards for the sounds we have learnt so far (see the list of sounds found in resources) and ask your adult to keep asking you the sounds. Can you remember them all?

-Have a try at writing some cvc words, ask your adult to give you some cvc words to sound out and write e.g. hat, sun, dog. Can you put these words into a sentence?

RE:

-Light a candle and set up an area for your own daily reflection at home. Think about our gospel values (love, care, share, trust and respect) whilst listening to the song.

-Have a listen and a watch of the Noah's Ark Story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PP3XNyQvuO4.

Create a collage to show what happened in the story. Can you tell the story to someone in your family? If you have a Bible at home see if you can find the story in there.

Other Activities (don’t forget to take some pictures and email them to us):

-Build a Fairy Tale Castle. You can use any materials you have at home e.g. Lego, cereal boxes, paper and paint etc.

-Make some porridge just like Goldilocks and the Three bears did and add a flavour e.g. Chocolate chips, fruit, syrup etc.

-Create your own gingerbread house or a gingerbread man. You could bake one, make one out of paper, draw or paint one.

- Create your very own fairy wand.

-Keep writing your name…..use different colours, different markers etc.

Week Two Home Learning

English:

-Think about your own fairy tale. What will happen in it? Who will the characters be? Talk to your family about your own fairy tale and what might happen. Is there going to be some magic in your fairy tale?

-Draw a picture of the characters that will be in your fairy tale? Can you label the characters with small words? Can you describe your characters?

-Read the cvc words from the list (found below in resources) and then have a try at writing some of them. Maybe your adult could read one and you could then write it?

-Read every day.

Maths:

-Create your own number line showing the numbers 1-10 or you can complete the numbers line of numbers 1-10 (found in the resources below).

-Can you count out items from your house for each number 1-10 e.g. 1 sock, 2 forks, 3 pasta shapes etc.

-Continue practising writing your numbers 1-10. If you have some play dough at home you could also make each number.

Phonics:

-Look at the phonics phase 2 word mat (found in resources below) and work through each sound seeing if you can say the sounds correctly.

-For each sound on the word mat, have a look around the house and see if you can find something beginning with that sound e.g. for 'a' you could find an apple!

-Use the following link to play some phonics games. Remember we are thinking about phase 2.

-Have a go at writing your very own prayer or sentence that we could use in reflection when you return to school. Decorate your prayer or sentence too. Maybe you could try and include our Gospel values in your prayer.

Other Activities (don’t forget to take some pictures and email them to us):

-Make a magic wand using any materials you can find at home. You could use a stick from your garden etc.

-Create your very own princess or prince crown to wear. What shape will your crown be? Do you have any gems or jewels to stick on? What colour will your crown be?

-Use items from the garden to build a small house for the Three Little Pigs. You can use twigs, leaves etc.

-Make a boat for the gingerbread man to cross the river in. Think about what you can make your boat out of. You could test out your boat in the kitchen sink…..ask a grown up first!
