Daily Reflection: Our focus this week is 'Compassion'

The word compassion means showing kindness and helping others. Listen to the song using the following link and think about how you can show compassion this week:

"You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate." Luke 6:36

Good Morning Imps,

I hope that you have had a lovely weekend. Let us start our week together and remember.......you can do this! heart

See you at 10am for our first zoom call!

Start of the day:

Listen to our good morning song in order to get us ready for the week ahead:

Handwriting Ready:

Listen to our crocodile snap song using the following link and get those hands ready:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6kPcQSSsEY&t=6s

It is really important this term that we start to work on our letter formation. We are going to start with a simple letter: l

Please watch the following short video to show you how this is done:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W55kiMs2454

Use your handwriting book from your pack (if you managed to collect from the school office) and try and practice the l letter. You can do it!

Reading:

Read your book from school and try and sound out some of the words. If you would like to explore some different books, use the following website which has lots of books you can choose from for free:

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

English:

Listen to our new story called ‘Man on the Moon.’ A video can be found in the video resource centre of me reading the story. Look at the pictures (found in the resources) from the story. Think about what you would take in your rocket if you were Bob going to the moon. Please could you draw your items on some paper and then have a go at writing out some of your items in the rocket template provided in resources or you can just write them on some paper.

Maths:

How are you getting on with counting to 20? See if you can count to 20 in a really quiet voice. Can you count back from 20 in an alien voice?

This week we are thinking about adding numbers together. The addition symbol looks like this + and when we use/see this symbol we know we need to find the total, how many altogether. When adding numbers together you can use your fingers, you can use your space number line which can be found in the resources of you can use some counters from home. Anything can be used for counters e.g. pasta shapes, stones, socks etc. Complete the addition questions found below in the resources. If you are unable to print the worksheet, maybe your adult could write the questions out for you.

Phonics:

Use your phase 2 mat found in the resources to revise all of your phase 2 sounds. It is really important to do this daily otherwise we quickly forget! Also remember the sound j from phase 3.

Today we are learning a new sound, v. Watch the video to help you pronounce this sound correctly:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8qklEXh7Dc

Can you find anything in your house beginning with v? It is a really tricky one!

Afternoon activity:

Paint or draw or create a collage space picture. You can include planets, stars, lots of colours etc. I have put some examples in the resources which might help you. Really looking forward to seeing them all!
