Daily Reflection: Our focus this week is 'Prayer'

As you listen to the music using the following link, think about one special person who you could say a little prayer for. Maybe it is someone who is feeling sad?

"But truly God has listened, he has attended to the voice of my prayer." Proverbs 66:19

Hello Lovely Imps,

How are you today? Did you bake a cake at the weekend? Don't forget to send me a picture, I would love to see what you got up to.

Start of the day:

Listen to our good morning song:

Handwriting Ready:

Listen to our crocodile snap song using the following link and get those hands ready:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6kPcQSSsEY&t=6s

It is really important this term that we really work on our letter formation. We are going to work on the letter o today.

Take a look at the following link to show you how this is written:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUg1p-pk_CE

Have a try at writing the letter o. Maybe you could write lots of o’s, all in different colours.

Reading:

Choose a book to look at from home and think about some of the ideas on the reading poster which can be found in the resources below. Maybe choose a book you have not looked at for a long time.

English:

Look at my alien found in the resources. What do you notice about my alien? Can you describe my alien, his eyes, head, the colour etc? Look at back at your alien from Monday’s learning and think about how you could describe your alien? Can you try and write your very own sentence about your alien? You can write your sentence on your picture or on a different piece of paper. Don’t forget your finger spaces and full stop!

Maths:

Count backwards and forwards to 20.

Today we are going to continue take away. Take a look at the video on the following link to help with subtraction:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z2xpvcw

Use the subtraction questions found in the resources (or you can write your own) to play playdough smash! The first number tells you how many playdough pieces you need, and the second number tells you how many to squash!!!! How many pieces to you have left?

Phonics:

Revise all of your phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds j, v, w, y and z. As we approach the end of our phoneme sounds just spend some making sure you know the sounds from phase 2 and the beginning of phase 3. You are doing so well with your phonics. I will tell you a sound or if you are not on zoom your adult can choose a sound from your phase 2/3 sound mat and see if you can recognise that sound and write it down. then swap roles....you see if you can say a sound and your adult or Mrs Jukes will write it down. Also use your wands to make some of the sounds.

Afternoon activity:

Use the computer or iPad to try and find out something about Mercury. What does it look like? What colour is it? I think it looks like a big, pretty marble.

Ask your grown up to cut out a circle shape or use a paper plate. Splatter paint (using mercury colours) onto the paper to create a beautiful mercury. Or you could use straws and blow paint across the page.

If you have any marbles, have a look and see if you have one like Mercury. You could have a game too!
