Daily Reflection: Our focus this week is 'Honesty'

As you take a moment to listen to the song, think about why honesty is really important:

Hello Imps,

I am so proud of each and every one of you! Everyday I am amazed by your kindness, your courage and your imagination! I cannot wait till we can all be together again....not long now hopefully!!

Start of the day:

Listen to our good morning song:

Handwriting:

Listen to our crocodile snap song using the following link and get those hands ready:

You are working so hard on your fine motor skills and handwriting, I can definitely see an improvement in your letter formation….well done everyone! Today we are working on the letter g and you can see how this is formed using the following link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPIywbNhias

Have a try at writing this letter, using pens, pencils or crayons. You can do it!!

Reading:

Do you have any fact books at home? These are called non-fiction books. What is your non fiction book about? Can you use it to find out anything interesting? Look at the pictures....what do you see? If you find a fact that you like, write it down and you can share it with us all.

English:

Using your astronaut picture from yesterday and the pictures found in the resources, can you think of some really good describing words for them? You may want to find your own astronaut pictures using a computer, tablet etc. Make a list of any describing words you can think of, looking closely at the astronaut and maybe looking at different astronauts to get lots of ideas. Do not worry about putting your describing words into sentences, just write the words as a list. Looking at your list of describing words, can you say out loud, a sentence using some of these?

Maths:

Can you count backwards from 20? This can be really tricky. In the resources you will find a number line that you can use to guide you or you can use your space number line we put in your home packs.

Today we are thinking about finding one less, which is the same as taking away one! Just like yesterday you can use your number cards that you made, turn them over, pick one and write the number one less! You can use the grid on the resources, or you can just write the number down. Try to write your numbers correctly.

Phonics:

Revise all of your phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds that we have learnt so far (j, v, w and z, x, y, qu, ch, th, sh, ng, ee, igh, oa, oo and ai). Today we are thinking about the sound ‘oo’ again however this time, the short sound which is different from yesterday. Use the link to hear the short ‘oo’ sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR47jG-imRo  Complete the short ‘oo’ sound activities found in the resources or you can write some of your own ‘oo’ words and draw some pictures to go with them.

Afternoon activity:

We have nearly made it to the end of term three. This afternoon try some hot chocolate breathing!!!! Ask your adult if you can help make a mug of hot chocolate. Once your hot chocolate has been made, follow the instructions below. Hopefully you will feel nice and clam. Enjoy your hot chocolate, you deserve it!!

Step 1: Hold you mug of hot chocolate in your hands.

Step 2: Breathe in through your nose to smell the hot cocoa. Slowly count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Step 3: Breathe out through your mouth and gently blow on your hot chocolate to cool it down. Slowly count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Step 4: Repeat until you feel calm.

Step 5: Enjoy your hot chocolate!
