Reflection

Today is the last day of our courage theme. Everyone at the moment is showing and demonstrating huge courage with the lockdown and having to learn at home and be away from your friends at school. Keep your courage strong and lean on God to offer his support and guidance.

Children's Mental Health Week

Our last activity for this week is about making change for ourselves and our mindsets. Everyone can feel down and sad at some point in their day or week or month or year. It is a natural thing, we call this a negative patch. We have to learn to do however is take these negative points and use them to learn, to grow and change our mindset. We can take these negative thoughts and create positive moments instead. Use the guidance sheet below to see if you can change some negative situations into positive ones.

Maths

Today we are continuing with fractions. We are looking at and exploring equivalent fractions.

There is a link to the videos found here https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/spring-week-5-number-fractions/

Alongside working through the video content, there is also a work sheet that will expand on what an equivalent fraction is and how to recognise them.

English - SPAG

Today we are going to carry on with learning about speech. We are going to move one step forward with our learning and start to explore indirect speech/reported speech.

Indirect speech is where we are recording the speech of someone. We are keeping the meaning of what they have said the same but we aren't always using exactly the same words they used (this would be direct speech).

Have a look at the powerpoint below to expand on the topic a bit more.

After you have had a go at the powerpoint and explored the learning try playing this game, can you identify the correct reported speech and speech verbs.

Finally there are some challenges for you to try below. Remember you are reporting on what is said, not recording what was said exactly.

French

Today we are moving through another topic on our French journey, we are going to explore and look at parts of the body.

There is a great set of learning parts and games to be found in the link below.

https://www.french-games.net/frenchlessons?topic=Body%20-%20parts%20of%20the%20body&level=primary

After you have had a go at the learning and games I have 2 tasks for you to try and have a go at.

Task 1

I would like you to create your very own labelled body with the french names for different parts. You could draw a person, create a 3d model to label, write labels and put them on different people around your home, the choices are up to you. Make it as creative and fun as you can.

Task 2

Try to sing and dance along to head, shoulders, knees and toes in french. There is a video below to give you some help.

Tête, Épaules, Genoux, Pieds | Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in French

Finally before the weekend take this afternoon or sometime today to just do something you want to and will enjoy. It doesn't have to linked to school at all or even have anything to do with learning, just go and have fun!

As always my dragons you make me so proud to teach you, you astound me every single day. I look forward to seeing you all again next week wether on zoom or in the classroom. Keep safe and we will back together soon.
