Thursday

21.1.21

Welcome to Thursday everyone!  I hope you've had a good week so far and I look forward to seeing you on Zoom at 9am and 1.30pm today and tomorrow.

Remember today is Thursday, so you have Zoom meetings for Music at 12pm and for KS2 Assembly at 2.40pm (as well as our 9am and 1.30pm Zooms).  Hoping as many of you as possible can make those Zoom meetings.

Remember to send Mrs Langley and I (Mrs L Mon-Weds and me Thurs-Fri) photos of things you get up to at home during Remote Learning; we love to see what you have been doing as well as photos of your work.  We have added a section to our page on the school website now so hope to start adding photos very soon.

Reflection

The theme for our reflections this week is Prayer.  How can we use prayer to talk to God and what do we say to God when we pray?

This is the 5 Finger Prayer and we will use this in our Reflection together on Zoom at 9am.

Maths

This week's maths is from Spring Week 3 - Number: Multiplication and Division.

Watch the video 'Divide with Remainders' then answer the questions.  Remember you don't need to print out the questions just write your answers in your Remote Learning book and then use the answers to mark your work.

French

Describe the Planets

This week you will learn to describe the 8 planets in our Solar System!

Remember last week you learnt how to say the names of the 8 planets in French!

Watch this video again to remind yourself how to say the names of the planets in French.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpGPNo2-vT4

In this video you will hear a native French speaker saying the names of the planets, he also has some other 'Space and Solar System' terms to teach you!

Describing the Planets

Look at this PowerPoint, it will teach you how to describe the planets using some simple French terms.

Now using what you have learnt, can you create some simple sentences (in French!) to describe the planets?!

Here are some examples:

Mars est une planète rouge.   (Mars is a red planet)

Saturne  est  une  grande planète.  (Saturn is a big planet)

You could write your sentences in your Remote Learning book or you could type your sentences - maybe you could even create a PowerPoint presentation!

French dictionaries and Google Translate are excellent ways to find French words.  Think how you would describe the planets (in English) and then see if you can find that word in French e.g. small, hot, red.....
