Reflection

Are focus for this week of reflections is prayer and talking to God. We are going to practice and rehearse the 5 finger prayer all together in our reflections this morning. If you can't join the zoom with us for this then practice it home by yourselves, use the picture to help you.

Maths

Today we are going to carry  on with our work on multiplication and division. We are exploring multiplying a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. There is a link to the videos found here https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/spring-week-2-number-multiplication-division/

Alongside working through the video content, there is also a work sheet that will expand on multiplying a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number.

English

Today we are going to continue through more of the book of Ice Trap! In this section of the story the crew and ship are trapped. How do you think the crew felt? What emotions do hey have at the start when playing cards and living on the boat? How do you think they feel at the end when the ship starts to break? Do you think their emotions would have changed at all? Create some mind maps or word clouds to show the two sets of emotions.

For your main task, I would like you to pretend to be a member of the crew, write a letter home describing either living on the ship trapped in the ice or when the ice has broken through the ship and you are forced to live on the ice floe.

RE

We have two different areas of community and the community of Jesus and the church to look at today.

First I would like you to read the following https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%203%3A13-19&version=NIV. In this section of Mark's Gospel, Jesus calls his disciples to follow him and go with him. Why do you think he picked these 12? What do you think made them special? Why do you think the disciples follow Jesus?

I would like you to create a poster or a list of the qualities (the special things) that made Jesus select his apostle. An idea of what made the apostles special was loyalty. What else do you think made them special.

Second task is to explore a community that is special to all of us, our church and parish. Our Lady Help of Christians is the church we have visited and attended at some point in our lives. I would like you to explore it's history, found here http://catholic-folkestone.blogspot.com/, and create a fact file of what you have found out about our local church.
