A message from Matthew Hahn our Governor member of the Eco Council.

I am proud to be a member of Stella Maris’s Eco Council.  I have been so impressed by the students’ dedication and focus in wanting to change the school’s relationship with their ecology and climate change by taking responsible action both as individuals and as a school.  In June 2019, Pope Francis declared a ‘climate emergency’ and warned of the dangers of global heating saying that a failure at act urgently to reduce greenhouse gases would be “a brutal act of injustice toward the poor and future generations”.  I am so pleased to see that the students of Stella Maris leading on Pope’s call to action.  I look forward to working with them now and in the future to make sure we do our best to mitigate this climate catastrophe for all of us but especially ‘the poor and future generations’.
