Daily Reflection: Our focus this week is 'Compassion'

Remember you are never alone, there is always someone there for you...to show love and compassion. Have a listen to the song using the following link and think about who you might help if they felt sad and how you could help them?

"Love bears all things, believes all things, endures all things....Love never fails." Corinthians 13:4

Hello Imps,

I am so proud of you and I am sure Mrs Crompton and Mrs Green are too! You are little superstars and are working so hard. Thank you so much! heart

Start of the day:

Listen to our good morning song:

Handwriting Ready:

Listen to our crocodile snap song using the following link and get those hands ready:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6kPcQSSsEY&t=6s

It is really important this term that we really work on our letter formation. We are going to work on the letter d today.

Take a look at the following link to show you how this is written:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyueHN6iP4Y

Try writing the letter in the air with your finger or using some ribbon. Remember you can either use your handwriting book or some paper from home to have a go.

Reading:

Choose a book from home and find a different space to read it in. Maybe you could read in your favourite chair, maybe you could read in bed, maybe you could read in the garden (if it is not too cold!!). Don’t forget to look at the following website for free books to read: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

English:

Think about your learning about the sun from the previous day and the beautiful pictures you made. Can you think of a sentence to describe the sun? I have put some pictures of the beautiful sun in the resources, these might help you think of a describing word. Tell someone your sentence. Can you now try and write your sentence down, remembering your finger spaces? You might want to start your sentence with ‘The sun is……’

Maths:

Count forwards and backwards to 20. How are you getting on with your numbers to 20?

Today is our last day thinking about addition. Take a look at the addition video using the following link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6KDz2mAn9o

Addition is also known as finding the total. Cut out the cards found in the resources and use two at a time to add them together and find the total. If you are feeling super clever, you could try writing out the number sentence e.g. 7 + 2 = 9.

Phonics:

Revise your phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds j, v, w and z.

Today we are thinking about some tricky words: NO, GO, I, AND, TO. Ask your adult to write these words out and see if you can recognise them. Keep going over these words throughout the day and weekend. These are tricky words, so we just have to try and learn them!

Play the tricky word game using the following link:

Afternoon activity:

Go for a nice walk and enjoy the fresh air!!!  Listen to all the sounds you hear and look around at all the colours you can see.
