Good Morning Unicorns!heart

What is fast, loud and crunchy?

A rocket chip!

Zoom:

Join me at 9:00am for our Zoom lesson – this morning our focus for reflection is ‘Prayer’. We will start the day with the ‘5 Finger Prayer’ all together (See the picture below). After I shall be reading from our book Macbeth – ready for your English Lesson today.

Reflection

The theme this week is prayer.

“Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Matthew 21:22

Morning Lessons

English:

LO: to explore what we know about the characters from ‘Macbeth’.

Let’s begin with what we are all waiting for:

Watch ‘All hail, Macbeth! Thane of Cawdor!’ –Episode 2 of the Macbeth animation: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks2-macbeth-ep2/zkx86v4

What did you think? I love the dramatic music in the animations! laugh Your first task is to sequence what has happened so far in the story; you can write this down in rough or draw pictures like a story map.

What do you predict will happen next?

Activity: What have you learned so far about Macbeth? What do you know about Lady Macbeth?

Create a mind map for each character writing down what you know, what their personalities are like, how they look etc.

Reading:

Can you go to our PiXL resources page – Remote learning > PiXL resources > Reading. Click the reading tab – choose a reading comprehension of your choice to have a go at. We have lots to do today so you might decide to move this activity to your afternoon time.  There are many different fiction and non-fiction texts for you to choose from.

Maths:

Arithmetic - X 10, 100 1000

0.9 x 10 =

13.4 x 100 =

0.06 x 10 =

4.5 x 1000 =

0.251 x 100 =

5 x 1000 =

2.063 x 10 =

1.02 x 1000=

LO: to revise multiplying whole numbers with different methods of multiplication.

Today we are going to re-cap work from the autumn term – if you follow the link for the White Rose Videos there are five different videos that you can choose from. ‘Multiply 4- digits by 1-digit’ (Video 1) is the easiest one and takes you right back to the beginning. ‘Multiply 3-digits by 2-digits’ (Video 4) and ‘Multiply 4-digits by 2 digits’ (Video 5) are both more like long multiplication.

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/week-4/

You can recap all videos on that page if you wish – but I will only include the worksheets for videos 1, 4 and 5. I have mentioned above these three. I will include the answers for these too so you can mark your work when you are finished.

Unicorns – you do not need to have a go at all of the sheets! Please just choose one that you would like to focus on as a revision today. If you are finding the Maths too tricky please do email me and I will try to help as much as I can.

Zoom:

Join me at 12:00pm – We will be recapping some Long Multiplication questions all together and applying those to problem solving type questions.

Afternoon Lesson

RE:

Choose between these two activities:

Here is a list of passages from the Old and New Testaments. Using any version of the Bible, find the following readings and put them in the order you find them in your Bible. Write down the Bible you have used and the page you found the passages on.

- John 3:1-6

- Galatians 3:26-28

- Deuteronomy 5:1-3

- Song of Songs 2:8-10

- Matthew 28:18-20

- Psalm 23

- 1 Corinthians 12:31

- Matthew 22:34-40

- Mark 1:9-11

- Ecclesiastes 26:1-4

- 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Or:

Do you have a favourite bible passage?  Make a reference card for that passage – write down the passage and bible reference on card and draw a picture to match what is said in the scripture.

If you choose this activity, I would love to see photographs of your work – please send them to me: sjessup@stellamaris.kent.sch.uk
