Afternoon Lessons

RE:

LO: to reflect on the signs of hope that Lent can bring.

To start this afternoons lesson can you begin by reading through the slides of this PowerPoint for you called ‘Lent-Signs of Hope’.

Once you have read through have a go at answering these questions in your remote learning books.

Why are snowdrops a sign of hope?

What three things do we spend more time doing during Lent?

What is Jesus’ message to us in the gospel reading ‘Matthew 6:1-2, 16-18’?

For this afternoon – can you choose one of the activities off the grid to complete at home?

Book week preparations:

Next week we shall be celebrating Book Week! Please find all the information here, make sure you share this letter with a grown up too. This letter is also on the latest news section of the website.

Check out the activities for next week and spend some time this afternoon to get thinking –

  • Who will you dress up as for the assembly on Thursday 4th March? We are focusing this year on headwear, a hat or you can completely dress up as a famous book character if you wish.
  • ‘Build a Den’ Build a reading den at home photo challenge.
  • ‘Story in a box’ Check out Mrs Harrison’s designs for her story in a box based on her sister’s novel ‘Malice in Underland’. What will you do for yours? Remember, it’s a competition so there will be prizes for the best boxes! For her design Mrs Harrison has used a cardboard box (of course), paint, pens and images she has printed from the book. Good luck everyone.

Well done all for an excellent first week back! I hope you are all enjoying our new projects. We are yet to start looking at music from the band the Beatles, but do not worry. We will! Take care everyone and have a lovely weekend.

Love, Mrs Jessup. XxX
