Have a go at writing this letter using different colour pens, pencils or crayons. You can also use your white board that we sent home. 

Reading:

Choose a book to read and find a really quiet, calm space for you to look at it. Try really hard to think about the smaller words in your book. Don’t forget you can explore some of the reading websites and games under the extra activities rainbow on the main class page. You can also log on to the teach a monster to read website, your logins are on the front of your folder that was sent home. If you are unable to find yours then just send me an email!

English:

The last few days we have been thinking about astronauts. This is a very special job and today I would like you to think about what you would really like to do as a job when you are bigger! What would be your dream job? Can you draw or paint a picture of you doing that dream job? I wonder if we could guess what your dream job would be from your pictures! Write down the name of your job next to your picture. 

I am so excited to find out what your dream job is.

Maths:

Count forwards and backwards from 0 to 20. You are getting so good at your numbers now, well done! If your adult writes a number down for you (between 0-20) can you recognise the number? If your adult calls out a number, can you write it down? Today we are continuing to think about one less and one more, using what we have learnt from the previous two days. One more is the same as what come next. One less is the same as what come before. Complete the one more and one less activity in the resources. Or I will also show you an activity on our zoom lesson.

Phonics:

Revise all of your phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds that we have learnt so far (j, v, w and z, x, y, qu, ch, th, sh, ng, ee, igh, oa, oo and ai). Today we are thinking about the ‘ar’ and you can hear this sound using the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXkE8aWfg2E

As we think of the pirates when we make this sound, see if you can make a special treasure map! Where will you hide the treasure? 

Afternoon activity:

Create your very own alien or space headband using any resources you have at home. You could use this for our space/alien celebration on Friday! You could use all sorts of materials like tin foil, an old hair band, cardboard, stickers, pipe cleaners, paper etc. Don’t forget to measure around your head if you are making it from cardboard. I can’t wait to see them on Friday!!!
