Compassion

“Clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Colossians 3:12

Sit quietly for a few minutes and listen to some calming music.  Think about compassion and what it means.  You can think of a prayer to say with your grown up

English

An input for this lesson will happen in this morning’s Zoom lesson at 9.30.

Please see log in details that were sent via the School App.

(If you are unable to attend the Zoom Lesson then I have added a link to the story below)

Learning Objective: I can compose a sentence orally before writing it.

Paddington at the Zoo

Listen to the story and think about the animals that Paddington met. Draw your favourite animal that was at the zoo. Think about some words that describe this animal and write a sentence.

(Please see animal border writing paper attached at the end of this page. If you don’t have a printer you can use a plain piece of paper.)

Phonics

Today’s phonics session will be at 11am on Zoom.  Please see log in details that were sent in an App message.

Please have a paper and pencil/pen handy or a whiteboartd and pen if you have one.

Maths

Learning Objective: I can recognise and name 2D shapes.

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-10-geometry-shape/

Today please watch the Recognise and Name 2D Shapes video.

It might be helpful if grown-ups could draw out some shapes prior to watching the video as a starting input in which the children can discuss shapes they recognise and name some of the properties.

(There is a worksheet to complete at the bottom of this page. If you don’t have a printer you can answer the questions on a piece of paper.)

Science

Animals including Humans

Learning Objective: To know which part of the body is associated with which sense.

Last week in class, if you remember, we drew around one of the Pixies and then named different parts of the body.

Today I would like you to think about our five senses, hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch.

Watch the links below to find out about each of the senses.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zqf9wxs HEARING https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z2yd2p3 SIGHT  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zy8hycw  SMELL https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zwn9j6f TASTE  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zg2vcwx TOUCH

Grown-ups, if possible can you please set up a small carousel of activities to enable your Pixie to explore each of the five senses? If you take any photos then please send them to my email address and I will add them to the Remote Learning section of our Gallery on the website.  You could also draw around your Pixie, label the body parts and add on each sense.  If you don’t have the paper, or the space then perhaps you could draw around a doll or a bear?
