Daily Reflection: Our focus this week is 'Courage'

Listen to the song and think about that the word courage. Do you always have courage? Is it always easy to be brave? Have you ever needed lots of courage? When I listen to this song, I feel a little braver!

"In this world you will have trouble, but be brave." John 16:33

Good Morning Imps,

We have made to the end of another week....well done us! One more week until half term, we can do this together!!!

Start of the day:

Listen to our good morning song:

Fine Motor Skills:

Listen to our crocodile snap song using the following link and get those hands ready:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6kPcQSSsEY&t=6s

Using the inside of a toilet roll or kitchen roll, use your scissors to cut the top of your tube so that you give your tube some hair. I will show you during our zoom meeting. You can then add eyes and decorations to your creature. What type of creature will you make?

Reading:

Find a book to read somewhere quiet and take your time, looking at the pictures, spotting the tricky words and using your sounds to help with some of the words. Fold a piece of paper in half so it looks like a book. Draw a picture on the front of your paper book, showing what your book is going to be about. It can be about anything you would like it to be.

RE:

Can you think of times when you and your family and friends gather together? It might be for a birthday or for a special occasion etc. Look at the pictures found in the resources that show people celebrating and gathering together. The Church welcomes us when we go, and we often celebrate at Church. We haven’t been able to go to our School Parish Church yet but when we can, we will go, and we will be welcomed by the priest and the other people that help in the church. Make a welcome poster that can be displayed in the church for people when they visit. On your poster you can write the word ‘Welcome’ and draw some pictures.

Maths:

Today we are finishing our work on shape. Can you remember the difference between 2d and 3d shapes? Can you remember the names of some 2d and 3d shapes? Have a look around your house to see if you can find an old cereal box or an old container (3d shape) that you can turn into something else. Use your imagination to make your 3d shaped container into something else. What are you going to make? Have a little think before you start.

Phonics:

Revise all of your phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds that we have learnt so far (j, v, w and z, x, y, qu, ch, th, sh, ng, ee, igh, oa and ai). Today is tricky words day and sharing a story. Look through all of our tricky words on the poster found in the resources. Can you recognise and read all of them? Can you put each tricky word into a sentence? You could either say your sentence out loud or you could write your sentence down to show me. You could choose one tricky one word to do, four tricky words etc…however many you would like.

Afternoon activity:

Do you know what a comet is? A comet is a chunk of ice, rock and gas flying through space. When comets get close to the sun, they heat up and we can see their glow and long tails. Ask your adult if you can find a picture of a comet on the internet.

Make a comet on a stick. Use the following link to see how to complete this activity.
