Hello everyone, hope you are well and enjoyed returning to home learning yesterday. Hopefully you will have received an app message today with the details for our Zoom catch up on Friday. If you have not then please email me and I will get the details to you as soon as I can.
What has got on your nerves or annoyed you during your time at home? Have you been kind and considerate at these times or have you got upset and angry? Take time to reflect on something that you could have done differently.
Guided Reading - As I shared yesterday our book this term and inspiration for learning is The Pirate Cruncher by Jonny Duddle. Below are two links to youtube, both are the book being read to you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro5S_UdvWkI - Jonny Duddle reading his own story
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV4VhI6s8nk - A follow along audiobook by Peter the Voice Guy
Writing - Having watched one or both of the tellings of our story for the term I would like you to review it. Tell me what you liked about the story, what you didn't like, what you would change, which character did you like and how many stars out of 5 would you give it. You don't have to do all of those headings or you can add more of your own. You can present your learning however you choose to at home.
Arithmetic - We are going to practice our times tables again this week, a skill we all need. Today I would like you to play and practice on times tables rockstars. You can use any part of the website, just enjoy practicing. You might even find some of the other Elves online to play against.
Investigation - Here is a link to a video all about fact families in maths. Fact families are three numbers that work together to make addition and subtract number sentences. After you have watched the video, have a go at the sheet below. https://vimeo.com/413876516
Science - We are going to go back to a topic we have already done some learning on, materials and their properties. You invesitigation today is to try and find the best material to build a pirate ship out of. The material you choose must be waterproof and must float. If you need a reminder what floating and sinking is watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2DTW0EMigk and if you need a reminder on waterproof watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nd42ISTOJI&t=72s (skip to 3 minutes).
