Wednesday 22nd

Good Morning

Hi all, hope you are enjoying your return to learning together, however remote it is. Remember we are all thinking of you and hope you keep safe.

Be Safe! Be Thoughtful! Be Yourself!

Reflection

Talk to the people at home with you. Tell them how you are feeling. What are you enjoying? What makes you scared? What makes you happy? What makes you sad?

English

Guided Reading – Today we are going to do some shared and group reading. We have already done this activity, reading in the round. Pick a book you can all share. One person reads a sentence, and then pass the book on. Carry on with everyone reading until you feel finished.

Writing – We are going to carry on looking at and exploring fact files before our write on Friday. Have a look at this website - https://www.literacywagoll.com/information.html

There is a range of different fact files for you to have a look at. What I would like you to do today is look at what is the same in all of them. What do they all feature? Create a list of the features you find. I will give you all a little tip, they use sub headings.

SPAG – One group of conjunctions is the coordinating conjunctions. They are known as the FANBOYS conjunctions. They stand for for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so. Make a poster to help you remember these.

Maths

Arithmetic – Some fun time today, here is a subtraction game for you to play. You can choose how to play it https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/subtraction-grids

Investigation – Using tally charts I want you to see what number comes up the most often when you roll two dice and add them together. As a starting point, you will need the numbers from 1 to 12 in your table. Just to be clear, roll 2 dice and add them together e.g. 3 and 2 would equal 5. Roll your dice 50 times to find your answer. If you don’t have any dice use this link https://www.random.org/dice/?num=2. Which number came up the most? Why do you think this is?

Science – We are starting a new area of learning in Science this term. We are looking at Animals including Humans. We are going to start with the Humans today, that is us. I would like you to consider what a healthy life style is. This means what is good for us and what is not. Make whatever you want to show your healthy lifestyle. If you need a little inspiration, have a watch of this video https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z26w2hv.
