Tuesday Home Learning- Hobbits Class

Good Morning!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and were able to relax. I was very busy again mainly housework...

I hope you have all got your reports now and are happy with how much progress you have made. I am proud of you all. I can't wait to see some of you soon before you go off and become a Dragon. This will be such an exciting adventure for you and your new teacher. Don't worry though I will be next door for you if you ever want to come and say hi!

This week's theme is Goodness.

What does that mean to you?

Get your Reflection Shape.

Hold it and think in your head what does the quote and music make you feel.

Light a candle (with a grown ups permission) and listen to this piece of music.

Today is a World Faith Day

Our Faith of Focus

This year we will be looking at Eid ul Fitr

Eid ul Fitr also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. This religious Eid is the only day in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not permitted to fast. The date for the start of any lunar Hijri month varies based on when the new moon is sighted by local religious authorities, so the day of celebration varies by locality.

This year Eid ul Fitr began in the evening of Saturday 23 May and ended in the evening of Sunday 24 May.

Eid is also a time for forgiveness, and making amends. During this time Muslims dress in their finest clothes, give gifts to children and spend time with their friends and family. At Eid it is obligatory to give a set amount to charity to be used to help poor people buy new clothes and food so they can celebrate too.

Your Task

Research Eid ul Fitr and create a poster about what it is all about.

If you can get dressed in your nicest clothes and take a picture of you and your poster so that it can go into your World Faith Day Books.

I look forward to seeing your creations.

Here are some links that might help your research.

Have a great day Hobbits!
