Tuesday: Good Morning Unicorns,
Did you know...?
There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on Earth.
Maths learning will look a little different this week as White Rose have changed how we can access the home learning – however if you follow the link as follows you will find the video for today’s Maths Lesson. https://vimeo.com/415879394
I have attached below in today’s documents the worksheet for today’s lesson and I will also attach the answers for you to see how you’re getting on. Today’s learning is, Lesson 1: Multiply Fractions by integers.
This week we will be working on a creative writing piece based on this very well- known book -
‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ I have recorded a video of me reading the text for you all. The video file was too large to share on this page so you need to go to ‘Unicorns Videos” on the Video Resource Centre tab of the website. You may need to refer back to this later in the week too.
After listening to the text I would like you to think of any classroom objects that you think may want to write a letter of complaint to the Unicorns. For example – the glue stick. The glue stick may complain that the Unicorns always forget to put their lid back on.
Can you list some classroom objects and then mind map ideas of why they would complain around them – thinking of all the reasons why they may choose to quit. I have an example for you below:
Work through the activities on the PiXL PowerPoint – this will be a bit of revision for you – looking at the grammatical features of nouns. The PowerPoint is attached below for you.
Some time reading a book of your own choice – spend 30 minutes quietly reading today.
Follow the link to the CBBC Newsround quiz – take the quiz and see how much you know. https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/quizzes/evolution-quiz
Can you design an evolution based quiz for someone in your house or a fellow Unicorn to have a go at answering?
If you enjoyed that mini quiz then please follow this link to find another here – based on Darwin and Evolution. https://www.khanacademy.org/partner-content/amnh/human-evolutio/darwin-and-evolution-by-natural-selection/e/quiz-darwin-and-evolution-by-natural-selection
A huge thank you to Jincy who has prepared a wonderful Yoga activity for you all to have a go at today. I have attached Jincy’s activity to today’s documents.
Remember if you have a fitness activity planned for the class you can please email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Missing you all lots! Love, Miss Moore. Xx
