Tuesday Home Learning – Pixies Class
Have you watched the video from the Stella Maris Staff yet? We hope you and your families enjoyed it. If you haven’t seen it, you can find it under children, video resource centre. Remember if you need any help with anything, or you just want to say hello, please do not hesitate to contact us.
-Did you find any books or stories about being outside or nature yesterday? If you did, read one of these for ten minutes to a grown up.
-If you didn’t have any stories about nature or being outside, you will find a short story in the resources section at the bottom of the page that you can share with a grown up.
-Think about the character from our book called ‘Wild’ that you drew yesterday. Have a look at the very last two pages only of the story (you will find it at the bottom of the page. What do you learn about the character from the clues, the pictures and the small piece of text? Do not look at any other pages, it is a surprise!
-Use the outline of the girl at the bottom of the page and on the inside write some key words about her personality, what she is like e.g. kind etc. On the outside, write about what the character looks like e.g. big brown eyes.
-Decorate your work with anything you would find in the wild!
-Use the link to play the game called Poop Deck Pirates! Click on phase 5 and choose the ‘ay’ and ‘a_e’ sounds, then off you go! This game asks you to think about the sounds, sound the word out and decide if it is a real word or not. Good Luck!
-Quick recap of counting in 10’s and counting in 2’s. Can you remember?
-Listen to our counting in 10’s song using the link.
-Complete the ten times table worksheet below. Think about how many groups of ten are you having to count. Use counters (any objects you can find your home)to help you need to.
-Think about the story of Pentecost that you read yesterday. Can you remember what happened? Have a little watch of the video clip to remind you.
-Pentecost is a Holy Day and many people celebrate it with a party because it is thought of as the church’s birthday. Can you make a birthday card and bake a cake (s) to celebrate the Church’s birthday! You could have your own little celebrate at home. Happy Birthday to the Church!!
