“But by the grace of God I am what I am.”
1 Corinthians 15:10
Learning Objective: Listen to stories, accurately anticipating key events and respond to what they hear with relevant comments, questions or actions.
Read the book again or watch the video. Talk with children about what they like or don’t like about the story, about any questions that they have or anything that the story makes them think about. § Ask them to say which part of the book stays in their minds most vividly. What will they tell their friends about this book? § Capture responses in speech bubbles to add to the class book. Talk about any questions raised. How can we answer them?
This week please explore the videos on Alphablocks that blend sounds together.
Learning Objective: Children count reliably with numbers from one to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer.
Count out objects and practise counting from different starting points—use Numicon, number lines and fingers.
Learning Objective: Can talk about how they and others show feelings, talk about their own and others' behaviour and its consequences. Takes changes of routine in their stride.
At home talk to a grown up or a family member about what you remember about the school day before school closed. Talk about how you feel not having been to school for such a long time. Talk about how your days at home are. Perhaps you have a timetable you can look at to talk about how you feel at each part of the day? Think about everything you have done at home.
