Learning Objective:  Spell some words correctly and make phonetically plausible attempts at others.

Read or watch Can’t you Sleep Little Bear and discuss the similatities with A Brave Bear. 

Children to write a descrption of the bears e.g. There is one big bear and one little bear. Etc

Discuss who looks after whom.



Watch the video to recap all phase 3 single sounds, digraphs and trigraphs.  Stop the video when appropriate and give children a selection of words to write containing certain sounds.  Give a caption or sentence including a tricky word for the children to write.


Watch the video link and practise writing some of the letter using lead ins and outs.



 Learning Objective:  (Ma1/2.1c )   given a number, identify 1 more and 1 less

Children to set out with Numicon  (1-10) or write a number line to 20.  Adult to give children clues to identify a number e.g. it’s bigger than 6 and smaller than 8.  After a few clues Imps to choose numbers and give clues to a grown up to identify the number.

With groups of objects, sticks, stones, leaves, children to count out groups of objects and find one more and one less.



Learning Objective: Safely uses and explores a variety of materials, tools and techniques, experimenting with colour, design, texture, form and function

PSED:  Confident to speak in a familiar group, will talk about their ideas and will choose the resources they need for their chosen activities.

At home have a basket of cuddly toys, similar to the characters in the book that children can access and take on adventures outside . At school children to draw their own bear and adult to laminate it.  Take the bears on a journey, build them a cave and create a “stream” where they can cool down.
