Hi everyone, I hope you had great weekends. It was absolutely amazing to see so many of you on Friday, it was so humbling to share that time with you all. You truly are the greatest! I swill send out the details today for the Zoom this week, we will do a maths zoom and do some work together.
Our reflection theme this week is grace.
We will start the week as we have been doing, by finding a quiet place by ourselves or with our families and reflect on the verse about. Reflect on the grace of God in our lives.
Guided Reading - Last week I shared a couple of videos for our next book, The Pirate Cruncher by Jonny Duddle, with you. Hopefully you have watched and experienced these, if not they are in last weeks activities. Today I would like you to try and answer these 5 questions:
1) What instrument is the singing character playing?
2) How many pirates board the boat to go find the treasure?
3) What is the name of the pirate captain?
4) What was pretending to be the island with treasure?
5) What happens to the singer at the end of the story?
Writing - We are going to create wanted posters this week for pirates. To do this we are going to think about your pirates appearance, what crimes they would have commitment, what ship their ship looks like and what you have to do to catch them. Today we are going to think about what they look like. Mind map what your pirate looks like. Think about their hat, coat, clothes, facial features, shoes, sword and anything else you can think about.
Arithmetic - Recap your learning tasks from Friday. Can you create related fact statements that such as the one I have shown here.
How many of these can you make?
Investigating - Today we are looking at adding and subtracting one from a 2 digit number. There is the video here to https://vimeo.com/414671240 to follow and then try the challenges below.
RE - After Easter, which feels like a very long time again, Jesus rose from the dead and this is recorded in the Gospel of Luke below.
Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb where Jesus had been laid. They found the stone covering the tomb had been rolled away, so they went in; but they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. They stood there puzzled about this, when suddenly two men in bright shining clothes stood by them. Full of fear, the women bowed down to the ground, as the men said to them,
“The Lord Jesus is not here; he has been raised from the dead he is alive. Remember what he said to you while he was in Galilee: that he would be crucified, and three days later rise to life.”
Then the women remembered his words and returned from the tomb and gave the message to the eleven disciples and all the rest.
Luke 24 1-9
