Monday 4th

Good Morning

Welcome back to another week, I hope you had lovely weekends and enjoyed what you ever you did.

Reflection

Our reflection theme is happiness for the week.

Take time to start the week with quiet and calm. Find your calm and quiet place, sit, and reflect on the message in the picture.

English

Guided Reading – I have put up the entire chapter 2 for you to read through again. Play a reading game with someone such as read the next sentence, predict the next word or answer my question. Any game you would like.

Writing – Having just read chapter 2 again have a think about where the story is being told from. Is it looking from high in the sky or very low down? It is written from very low down, as it is talking about what Max can see. What do you think it would be like to be small and close to the floor? I want you to lay on the floor anywhere and draw the picture, the setting, you can see from the floor.

SPAG – To support our big write at the end of the week, we are going to explore past and present tense. The past tense is when we write about the things that have already happened. Quite often we use the suffix ed to show something is in past tense. Present tense is when we write about things happen now. Have ago at the past and present tense challenges below.

Maths

Arithmetic – We are going to practice times tables today. We are going to do a speed challenge for the week. Time yourself saying the 2, 5 and 10 times tables out load. How quick were you? Can you get quicker doing it by Friday?

Investigation – We are beginning a new topic of learning this week. We are going to exploring position and direction. Can you mind map anything you think you know about this topic area and then map any questions you would like to find out the answer to as well?

RE – In John 15:12 it is stated that Jesus gave us all one commandment, “To love one another as I have loved you.” What does this mean to you? How can you show this in your life? It can be used to lead into the peace when we are at Mass. When we exchange the peace in Mass, we are promising to each other that we want to leave is peace and love with everyone in the world. Create an artwork that represents the world living in peace and love with each other.
