Miss Baker's Weekly Newsletter
It is very strange that we are approaching the end of Term 5! We have two more weeks of home learning and then it will be the May Half Term!
Thank you for all the emails you send me. It is lovely to read them and see what you have all been up to! I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. I went for a walk in the woods and went for a walk along the beach. I had a moment thinking about once lockdown has lifted I will continue to do such things as it does not cost any money! I wonder what you will all do differently when things return to “normal?”
Another thing I have been enjoying is making meal times more special! We make sure we sit at the table and we use special plates and cutlery to make it a special event. Sometimes we dress up to like we are at a restaurant too! We also had quite a few BBQs at home this weekend- I really enjoy eating outside- even if I have to wear a coat, hat and gloves!
The things I have not been enjoying are not being able to visit new places. Do you remember when I told you about my visit to Scotney Castle? I have had to make do with visiting places in my home I haven’t been to in a while-such as the depths of my wardrobe and on top of the kitchen cupboard!!
I am not sure what will happen after May Half Term but I do know that for now we need to focus on the next two weeks. I am going to tweak the daily planning slightly so I will no longer be setting daily arithmetic as I would like you to focus on TTRS. Of course if want to you can always revisit previous worksheets. I will also be setting one afternoon based lesson rather than two.
As always- do what you can but do not worry if you cannot complete all the tasks. It is very difficult trying to maintain a routine and motivation- I think the grown- ups are finding this hard too! The most important thing is do do what is right for you and your family.
I miss you all very much!
