Learning Objective: · Uses their phonic knowledge to write words in ways which match their spoken sounds. Writes some common irregular words.

 

Listen to the story again and pick out the names that Stanley calls his stick

Will the children give their stick a name like Stanley did? What made them decide on their chosen name?

Using chalk, charcoal or little sticks and leaves write the name of their sticks.

Practise Practise reading tricky words: no, go, I, the, to.

Apply Play Yes/No  - children read questions and put thumbs up or down

Can wax get hot?

Maths

Learning Objective:  Children count reliably with numbers from one to 20, place them in order and say which number is one more or one less than a given number. Using quantities and objects, they add and subtract two single-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer.

Children to use Numicon  or objects and fingers to show one more and two more etc.

Children to photograph or create a sequence of events – first, then, next and finally.  It could be the process of a jigsaw or the drawing of a picture.
