Bags of Love Initiative
Bags of Love ... our story so far
In April, we launched Phase 2 with Kent Help for Ukraine - Bags of Love. We were inspired by a lady from Poland who ran a similar campaign for herself (see the video link further down the page). Our aim is to send 1000 rucksacks to children and young people in the Ukraine. In May, two of our volunteers - Denise and Phil - travelled to Lviv in Ukraine with the first 270 bags. Since then, over 730 additional bags have been received taking our total to over 1000. On 15th June, our 18th HGV lorry set off for the Ukraine with around 700 more Bags of Love (along with medical supplies, food, toys and outdoor play equipment for children).
Within our Bags of Love pages, you can see a photo gallery with images and videos that show our story so far; this is a truly humbling experience and we thank every person who has been involved with this initative. A special huge thank you to all the volunteers behind the scenes for your hard work - rain or shine - at the hub in Folkestone.
If you have already donated a bag, check out the photographs to see if you can spot yours! Please keep these bags coming and remember, ideally, you should fill a pre-loved bag of your own and add with some of the suggested items from the list below.
